Louisiana Sportsman wrote that up years ago. The epoxy on the bottom locks the foam so the beads do not chew a hole in it, and they say it helps the lower-frequency pop. That is on them, not a slogan I made up.

Here is what is on the Four Horsemen 4-inch corks and on the Amazon card:

• Stainless spring steel wire, twisted on the ends — not crimped. Their line is the wire does not take a memory the way a cheap cork kinks and stays bent.
• 130 lb Spro swivel. That is the real upgrade from a gas-station clip.
• High-density beads with a matte finish. They pop against the epoxy and the sound goes through the foam.
• One cork to a pack. Made in the USA. Assembled in Cut Off.

Four-inch DieZel MinnowZ on a 1/8–1/4 oz jig. Eighteen to twenty-four inches of fluorocarbon under the cork. Tie the fluoro to the Spro swivel. Too short and the bait is in the splash. Too long and you are feeding roseau. Pop. Pause. Let it hang.

Lafitte this week you do not have a tide to waste. The Four Horsemen popping cork lets you work a drain pocket without ripping a jig through the bank. Electric Chicken or New Penny on the DieZel when the water is dirty. Pearl when it cleans up. Venice on a falling tide, walk the cane when that is the better play. Same 4-inch. Same fluoro.

Tight line is still half the box

Amazon is not the cheapest place to buy one. The Four Horsemen popping cork on Prime has been around $13. Direct from Four Horsemen and a lot of tackle shops sit closer to $8–11. You are paying for Prime and a listing that will actually show up.

One cork to a card, and it throws heavy. Lose it in the roseau and you are buying another. If your cork rod is a true light, the 3-inch is the better match. For this marsh I still want the 4-inch.

The name will confuse you. Cajun Thunder is the marsh word. Four Horsemen is the company. Precision Tackle is not in this carton. Buy the card that says Four Horsemen Tackle.

I have not given this exact cork a season. I fish a cork. I fish a DieZel under it. This is the USA-made Prime cork I am willing to put on this site. I will not dress that up as a hundred-fish week.
