Numbers from TideCheck, OpenWeatherMap, and the Carrollton gauge. Catch from Steven (morning Sep 1, still current). No invented limits or a boat story we do not have.
Always check LDWF regulations before you keep fish.
What they caught
- Lafitte / Barataria: reds. Some bass. Lots of catfish. No speck report for Lafitte.
- Venice: reds and specks. Some bass. Lots of catfish.
That is the whole list. If it is not on there, it did not make the report.
Lafitte Fishing Report — Barataria Waterway

Tide barely moving. Soft rise then fall. High 8:52 a.m. at 0.6 ft, low 9:07 p.m. at 0.3 ft. Tiny range. You fish the little bit of moving water you can find.
Solunar 2 of 5. Grind-it-out day. Prime window is the daylight major, 4:25 - 6:25 p.m. If you get out late, that is still the window.
Weather: overcast morning, light rain around 10 a.m., broken clouds 1 p.m., light rain again around 4 p.m. SE about 5 mph, upper 80s to 90. Grey marsh, not a gold sunset.
The bite we actually have is reds. Some bass, lots of catfish. Specks are not confirmed on Lafitte, so they stay off this card.
Slow it down. Slack water is dead water on a swing this small.
Venice Fishing Report — Mississippi River Delta

Long steady fall. High 2:24 a.m., low 3:07 p.m. Carrollton (NORL1) 5.1 ft all day. Well under 8 ft, so the interior should still be green water.
Solunar 2 of 5. Prime window 4:22 - 6:22 p.m.
Weather: broken/overcast morning, light rain 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., NE to E around 4-7 mph, upper 80s to 90. Grey delta rain.
The bite: reds and specks, some bass, lots of catfish.
Fish the cane edges and the drains on the fall. Interior ponds while that river stays under 8.
Venice vs. Lafitte today
Both sides are a 2-out-of-5 grind with light rain. Lafitte is a tiny tide and a reds day. Venice has the falling water, green interior, and the mixed reds-and-specks bag. If you want specks, Venice. If you want to stay closer to town and pick at reds, Lafitte. Either way, that late-afternoon window is the shot.
Throw this — Sep 2
Lafitte is a reds day. Venice is reds and specks. Same three things that live in this box.
Cocahoe under a cork. 4-inch DieZel MinnowZ in Electric Chicken or New Penny, 18–24 inches under a popping cork. That is the Lafitte drain bite on a tiny tide.

Gold spoon in the grass. If you would rather bang the cane than sit on a cork, the Johnson gold spoon is still the one.
